Welcome to St Michael the Archangel
HOLY WEEK
Walking with Jesus from the Cross & the Empty Tomb
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
JOHN 15:13
Holy Week invites us into the most sacred moments of Jesus’ earthly journey.
From joyful praise, through suffering and sacrifice, to the triumph of resurrection, we are reminded of it all.
As we remember His love poured out for the world, we pray that our hearts be awakened and renewed.
May this Holy Week draw you deeper into the mystery of Christ’s love and redeeming grace.

Prayer & Reflection
A short reflection and prayer for this month
April
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath
begotten us again unto a lively hope
by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”
1 Peter 1:3
This month we honour the resurrection of life. Where there once was death, life is restored, and hope is re-established where there once seemed none.
Jesus’ empty tomb is not only a moment in history, but a living promise: that nothing placed in God’s hands is beyond redemption. In Christ, even the darkest places can become the beginning of new life.
So often, we carry areas in our lives that feel sealed, hidden, or beyond restoration - things we have laid down, lost, or quietly grieved. Yet the resurrection reminds us that God works in ways we do not expect, bringing life from what seems finished, and hope from what seemed beyond repair. We can take heart that the stone was rolled away, not only from a tomb, but from every place where we believed the story had ended.
Resurrection is something we remember with reverence; it is also something we are invited to live. Because Christ lives, we are given new life which speaks not only for eternity, but for today. A life marked by hope, grace, and the quiet assurance that nothing is wasted in His hands. So let us lift our eyes as we step forward in faith, and hold fast to this unchanging truth: in Christ, death is not the end.
Risen Lord,
we thank You that death has been defeated,
and that hope has been made secure through
Your resurrection.
Where our hearts feel weary or burdened,
speak life again.
Where we have known loss, disappointment, or fear,
breathe Your renewing grace.
Help us to live in the light of Your victory,
trusting that nothing is beyond
Your redeeming power.
Fill us with living hope,
and lead us to walk in the new life You have given,
now and always.
Amen.
